Research Fellows Program 2025-2026
The Research Fellows program, invites a small number (up to 10) of researchers that applied for the role of Research Fellow of the Neurodiversity Foundation to join monthly sessions where their can discuss their neurodiversity-related research and their process. The sessions are lead by our science ambassador Steven, and supported by community manager Natalia, Education ambassador Renee and the director Tjerk. See the team pictures on the bottom of the page. The application for the new cohort, opens on September 1st 2025, and closes at September 27th. The program will start in October 2025.
The program supports in creating a small research community within each yearly cohort, of researchers that are doing their own research, with the foundation as a supportive partner. We believe that research about neurodiversity, and the ones doing that, deserves a better spotlight and community. We organize the program in this way because its valuable to know others in the field for your network, and bounce ideas with them, or ask for advice when needed. It also supports in dissemination of the research results, supports the profiling of the individual researchers, and each research fellow gets a timeslot to present their research to the academic community, during the ND Pride Science Online Conference, organized in June 2026.
Both applying and attending the Research Fellows program is completely free, researchers remain owners of their own research, and have a say in how they are supported by the foundation to promote their research works. The foundation created this program, to support neurodiversity researchers on their path of sharing knowledge about neurodiversity with the world in a more effective ways. While its free, attendence to the montly online sessions, and presenting your research at the conference are mandatory parts of the role as a Research Fellow.
Our first Research Fellows cohort was in 2024-2025, and we are opening up our doors, starting in September 1st 2025, for new research fellows. We invite all those that are interested in becoming a research fellow, to apply using the form below. All neurotypes, all ages, all educational levels, and people from all nations can apply. Because we are reviewing and feedbacking the work: we do prioritize research efforts written in the dutch and english langauge.
The Neurodiversity Foundation offers various Neurodiversity Research opportunities and avenues for researchers and students to engage in research about neurodiversity. Our own research efforts aim to promote understanding, acceptance, and empowerment of neurodivergent individuals. We accept collaboration with educational institutions, research consortia, individual researchers, interns and volunteers, use the form below to send us a message.
